The Higher Education Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), has issued a Uniform Academic Calendar to synchronize academic activities across the Union Territory (UT) of J&K. This calendar includes fixed timelines for examinations and vacations to ensure consistency and better management.

- Logistical Challenges: Organizing examinations during vacation periods complicates administrative processes.
- Climatic Hardships:
- Winter Zone: Severe cold waves and dense fog.
- Summer Zone: Scorching heat waves hinder commute and academic activities.
Directive
To address these concerns, all institutions are directed to avoid scheduling examinations during vacation periods. This measure aims to:
- Maintain the integrity of the academic calendar.
- Ensure faculty and students enjoy uninterrupted vacations.
- Minimize difficulties caused by extreme weather conditions.
