To restore the traditional November-December academic calendar for the 2024-25 session, the government has directed the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) to implement specific changes.
According to the Council of Ministers’ recent decision (No. 005/02/2024 dated October 31, 2024), the November-December session will apply as follows:
- For Classes 1 to 9: Examinations will be conducted in November-December 2024. This will apply to the Kashmir region and the winter zone of the Jammu region.
- For Classes 10 to 12: The November-December session will be fully restored starting with the academic year 2025-26. However, for the current session, the JKBOSE will aim to start exams for these classes on February 15, 2025, and finish by the end of March.
This decision aligns with the government’s efforts to return to the previous academic structure while allowing a transition period for higher classes.
